Swiss Maestro Roger Federer is looking forward to playing in the Olympic Games and representing Switzerland and he is also looking forward to the tennis events being held at Wimbledon, where he has been the undisputed king, having won a record six championships on the famous grass courts of Queen’s Club but he has reiterated that he will not be participating in the mixed doubles events for his country with former world number one women’s tennis player Martina Hingis as his partner.

There had been speculations for quite some time that Hingis, who retired from the game a few years ago, will come out of retirement to play at the 2012 London Olympic Games but Federer has vehemently denied these claims, stating that although these are extremely romantic claims, there is no ground to it. Hingis has been a champion at Wimbledon before and it was thought that Roger Federer would want someone who has the pedigree of winning there as his partner.

Speaking about the speculations, Federer did say that the only person he could have imagined himself playing Mixed Doubles with was Hingis having learned so much from her but he also added that she is happy in retirement at the moment and doesn’t believe that they should be playing together and that was the end of it.

However, the 30 year old former world number one, who many consider to be the greatest tennis player of the Open Era is looking forward to a once in a lifetime opportunity where he will be competing in the Olympic Games at the All England Club. Roger Federer, who has been a fan favorite at the Queen’s Club, is looking to add the only thing missing from his trophy cabinet and that is the Olympic Gold medal and he hopes he can do it this year.
